No Special Benefit for Demolished Landmark

4/3's opinion in Elks Building Association of Santa Ana v. J.K. Properties, Inc. G056187 is only of passing interest for its brief discussion of the "special benefit doctrine," hence its unpublished status. But it is of interest to any native of Orange County who recalls the venerable Saddleback Inn in Santa Ana, once a venue for many an upscale wedding and similar functions. Watching the property decline over the years and then be completely demolished, I often wondered what the reason was, other than general decay of central O.C.
